The importance of bibliographic information systems is increasing in today’s digital era. Students and researchers want to access the content fast, effortlessly, and efficiently. It is important for librarians to understand how users access digital resources, and the systems that could be used to improve the user’ experience. Maja Kuhar, PhD student at University of Ljubljana, will share the concept and key benefits of the 'eye-tracking' method that can be used to analyse user’s behaviour. She will also share what librarians should consider when improving the interface of a bibliographic information system.

Maja is a PhD student at the Department of Library and Information Science and Book studies. Her current research focuses on the use of eye-tracking method for evaluating and designing bibliographic information systems. She is interested in exploration of complementarity of different methods and discovering their unique benefits for improving the website’s user experience. By comparing other methods to eye-tracking she is searching for patterns in the data, which can validate eye-tracking as a tool for evaluating user experience. She holds a master’s degree in library science, in which she focused on the academic librarians’ view on open access.
