Open Access (OA) is reshaping scholarly communication worldwide, and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region is playing an increasingly important role in this transformation. From government mandates to publisher agreements, OA is influencing how research is created, shared, and evaluated. This webinar will explore the evolving OA landscape across APAC, drawing on insights from Japan’s transformational agreements as well as experiences from other countries in the region.
We’ll discuss the opportunities and challenges OA presents for authors, libraries, and institutions — from increasing research visibility to navigating compliance requirements. Librarians and university research administrators will gain practical perspectives, based on data and experience on how OA can drive collaboration, enhance institutional impact, and support a more open and equitable research ecosystem.
