Stuart Glover

Dr Stuart Glover is the Manager of Government Relations & Policy for the Australian Publishers Association. He is responsible for building relationships with government at all levels -- including the departments of education and the curriculum bodies--and selected stakeholders such as the Copyright Agency, the authors, booksellers, and libraries. This work involves surveying the external policy environment and developing advocacy positions for the industry. Current internal policy priorities are the sustainability of the Industry and its Diversity and Inclusivity. 

Stuart has a background as an arts administrator: He was founding director of the Brisbane Writers Festival; a senior lecturer in publishing, editing, and writing at QUT and UQ  for 15 years. He has been a consultant to major cultural institutions including state libraries, university presses, and state arts departments.

And he has been a board member and/or chair of more than a dozen arts organisations, including many in literary sectors; the Literature Board of the Australia Council, National young Writers Festival, island magazine, Queensland Writers Centre and the Queensland Literary Awards  His research work, which has been published in several scholarly books and half a dozen or so journals, focuses on contemporary literature policy.
