Emma completed BSc and MSc(Hons) degrees in Chemistry at the University of Canterbury (NZ). She worked as a Chemistry teacher at the University of Canterbury before starting her PhD in Structural Biology with Jenny Martin and Brett Collins at The University of Queensland’s Institute For Molecular Bioscience. Emma is the recipient of a UQ research scholarship, an IMB research advancement award, and an Australian Institute for Nuclear Science and Engineering postgraduate research award. During her PhD she has completed a placement in the Office of the Queensland Chief Scientist and is a member of the IMB Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the UQ SAGE Self Assessment Team.
