Director, Library, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST)
Dr. Kim began her role as the library director for UNIST in 2007 when the university was established with an aim to become one of world leading research-focused universities in Korea. During her first 1.5 years at UNIST, she was dedicated to set-up the library from scratch for the official opening of UNIST in Mar 2009 and laid the foundation for the current operation of the UNIST library. She previously held positions as a librarian at Pusan National University and a lecturer in Library and Information Science at various other universities. The recipient of 46th Korean Library Award (individuals) 2014 by Korean Library Association (KLA), award for University Library Development 2012 by Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), Dr. Kim received her bachelor’s in Library and Information Science from Pusan National University, a Master’s in Library Science from Sungkyunkwan University, and obtained Doctorate in Library and Information Science from Pusan National University. Dr. Kim’s main interests lie in adapting the roles of libraries and librarians to the changing academic & research environments derived from the development of information technology.
