She has also worked at several regional libraries including, South Australia TAFE, University of Central Queensland, University of Ballarat (now Federation University) and the University of Wollongong.

She is currently responsible for seven libraries in Tasmania and was instrumental in the design and opening of a new library this year, showcasing commitment to scholarship, lifelong learning, innovation, creativity, and community engagement. Included in Janette’s portfolio is the University of Tasmania’s cultural collections and galleries. One of her priorities is to enable the discovery of, and access to, the State of Tasmania’s cultural collections. Embedding print, electronic, and cultural collections into the curriculum along with information, digital, research and cultural skills is a priority. Advocating for and leading the discussion on open access and the implementation of read and publish agreements at the University has been positively received.
